The Factory Carpets And Beds Main Stage is set to host a fantastic lineup of entertainment this weekend for the Macclesfield In May Festival. The FREE two day event is being held around Market Place in the Town Centre this Saturday 3rd May and Sunday 4th May 2025.
The festival has been organised by Jo Lowes and her team who founded ‘Party In The Pews’ at Christ Church in Macclesfield. After running the event for 4 years, they outgrew the venue and have been working hard behind the scenes to relocate the live music festival to the town centre.
With support from the Macclesfield community, the team successful secured a Kickstarter campaign for £2,283 in December 2024. Further funding was secured with a grant from Macclesfield Town Council and sponsorship for numerous local businesses. With funding secured, Macclesfield In May will be the first festival of it’s kind to be hosted in the town centre and will be FREE for everyone to attend.
The Main Stage has been named after the main sponsor, Factory Carpets And Beds. The local business has been established in Macclesfield for nearly 20 years. Martin Bennett took over the business 3 years ago, which is located in the town centre in Crown Centre on Bond Street. Martin, a local family man supports a number community group and charities. With the festival coming up this weekend, we spoke with Martin who’s looking forward to joining the event;
“I love living and working in Macclesfield because of the community spirit. As an established business in the town, we do what we can to give something back to the community. The festival will be a great event to bring the town together and help businesses in the town centre and we’re proud to support it.”
If it wasn’t for the support of local businesses like Factory Carpets and Beds, many local community events couldn’t happen. The festival has also been sponsored by Macclesfield Town Council, Hadfield Drysalter, Savages Mussels Bar, Wood Fire Smoke, Grosvenor Centre, Redwillow Brewery, Bombay Flavours, Flour Water Salt, Kycker, RGM Magazine, Bollington Brewing Co and Red Lantern Record.
